Textile Dialogue Connects: Towards Living Wages in the Textile Industry
Experiences and practical approaches towards living wages in global textile supply chains
Description
Living wages are an important component of sustainable and resilient textile supply chains. At the same time, significant wage gaps persist, particularly in key production countries such as Vietnam. For companies, this raises the question of how to identify these gaps and implement concrete measures to reduce them.
In this webinar, Textile Dialogue and Sustainable Textiles Switzerland (STS) will present experiences and insights from the “United for Fair Wages” project. The project brings companies together to learn collectively, identify areas for action and develop measures to promote living wages.
The webinar will focus, among other things, on approaches related to purchasing and financing practices, standards and certifications, worker empowerment, dialogue and capacity building. Participants will gain insights into the lessons learned and good practices from the project and learn how these approaches can be integrated into their own business strategies.
The webinar is aimed in particular at German brands and retailers and provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and insights from the Swiss project. A continuation of the project under the name “United for Fair Wages 2.0” may follow.
