The Fair Fashion Award is entering its third year—this time with a focus on fair labor practices. Through this award, Swiss Fair Trade recognizes Swiss companies, organizations, and projects that consistently implement living wages, safe working conditions, and fundamental labor rights. As a partner of the award and an initiative that has made fair labor one of its four core objectives, we are pleased to help raise awareness of it.
The assessment is based on a publicly available set of criteria that includes not only general sustainability criteria such as governance, the environment, and quality, but also specific aspects of fair labor practices: the payment of living wages throughout the supply chain, the involvement of labor unions, and long-term, fair partnerships with suppliers.
The award is presented in the categories “Emerging” and “Established.” The winners will each receive CHF 20,000 in prize money, and all finalists will also receive consulting services valued at CHF 3,000. The awards ceremony will take place on October 21, 2026, in Zurich.
Through their commitment to STS’s targets – including fair working conditions – our members are already deeply engaged with this issue. Submitting an application is worthwhile: it highlights the work that has already been done.
